FOCUS ON FILMMAKING – MICHIGAN FILM CAMP 2012 – SAUGATUCK
FOCAL POINT VIDEO WORKSHOP
A weeklong workshop that covers all aspects of video production including storyboarding, scriptwriting, use of camera, editing and sound. Focal Point is open to beginner through advanced students. Special workshop sessions for teachers are offered and university credit is available for an additional fee paid to Central Michigan University.

ART IN MOTION WORKSHOP
This is an intensive, yet absolutely fun, week-long summer workshop for adults in animation. An overview of the many types of animation is provided with instruction in editing and sound as well. Classroom applications for teachers are discussed and university credit is also available. Housing for adults is available at a small additional charge.

MICHIGAN YOUTH ARTS FESTIVAL: This annual 3-day celebration of the arts is held on the campus of Western Michigan University. DAFT selects a group of students to represent the art of film and video. At the Festival students study with media professionals, present their work to the public and have the opportunity to see the finest student work in other artistic disciplines. The 2011 Festival will be May 13-15.
STUDENT ANIMATION WORKSHOP: A group of high school students from across the state are selected to take part in this intensive workshop. For four weekends the students meet to learn the art of animation using traditional methods as well as the newest technology. Applications will be available when funding is secured.
WORKSHOPS and ARTIST RESIDENCIES: DAFT can assist your school or community organization by designing workshops or arranging visiting artists to suit your needs.
